Alexander III , the Peacemaker

Tsar Alexander III was an imposing, simple man and the most important in Europe in his time; one day he was fishing in a lake near the Gatchina Palace and his Chancellor approached him and informed him that a foreign delegate was requesting an urgent audience, to which Alexander replied:


"When the Tsar is fishing, Europe can wait"
